Most filler tutorials are built around a Northern European face. The population we treat in Newham is overwhelmingly not that, and the differences matter. South Asian faces often have a wider bizygomatic width with mid-face fullness that descends earlier, so aggressive cheek filler quickly reads as heavy rather than lifted; the answer is usually lateral structural support, not anterior volume.

African-Caribbean skin tends to have a thicker dermis and stronger structural support, so it ages more slowly in the upper face but can benefit from precise jawline and chin projection work. It also has a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from needle trauma, so we favour cannula technique where appropriate and minimise entry points.

Tear troughs need particular caution on melanin-rich skin — much of what looks like a hollow is periorbital pigmentation, which filler will not fix and can make greyer via the Tyndall effect. In those cases we will recommend skin boosters or a pigmentation protocol instead and tell you plainly that filler is the wrong tool.

We use CE-marked hyaluronic acid fillers with cross-linking chosen for the area: softer, more flexible gels for lips and tear troughs, firmer and more cohesive gels for jawline, chin and cheek projection.

Hyaluronic acid is reversible. If you dislike the result, or in the rare event of a vascular complication, the gel can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. We keep hyaluronidase on site and follow an emergency protocol — a question worth asking of anyone in London who offers you filler, especially at a price that looks too good to be true.

We do not treat under-18s, and we will decline treatment where the request is unsafe or unlikely to give you what you actually want.

Lips are the most requested treatment, usually 0.5 ml or 1 ml for hydration and gentle definition rather than volume. Cheek and jawline filler are next, often as part of the 8-point facelift for clients in their forties and fifties who want a refreshed rather than altered face.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is popular locally for smoothing a dorsal hump and lifting a droopy tip — a 15-minute treatment with immediate results, carried out only with cannula and conservative volumes because the nose is a high-risk area.

Marionette lines, nasolabial folds, chin projection, temples and under-eye hollows complete the menu, and many clients combine one filler area with anti-wrinkle injections in the upper face.

Your consultation is free and unhurried: medical history, photographs, an honest discussion of what filler can and cannot do for your face, and a written plan with costs. There is no pressure to treat on the day, and a cooling-off period is encouraged for first-time clients.

On treatment day the area is cleansed and numbing cream applied for around 20 minutes. Injection takes 15 to 45 minutes depending on the area. You will see the result immediately, though swelling — especially in lips — peaks at 24 to 48 hours.

Aftercare: no makeup on the area for 12 hours, no gym, alcohol, sauna or steam for 48 hours, sleep slightly elevated, and avoid dental work for two weeks. We review you at two weeks and top up if needed.
